“Man, sometimes it takes you a long time to sound like yourself” - Miles Davis

I am a reformed malcontent who has taught myself to see the truth, which is that incredible things are happening everywhere, all the time.

Growing up in a rowdy Irish Catholic family as one of nine siblings (six brothers!) I had to learn early on how to a) survive and b) stand up for myself and what I thought was right. I used that fighting spirit to propel myself into a successful career in brand communications in New York and Los Angeles, where I worked with world famous brands including Sony and Starbucks, along with a whole slew of cool startups.

And then I fell apart. After realizing I didn’t like where the ladder I was climbing was headed, I decided to take it down and build a new one toward a life that felt truer to me.

Over the course of the next 15 years, I found my way. My devotion to inner development, meditation, and writing practices in community have landed me in life that is by no means perfect but that I deeply love. My calling is to help others learn to operate from a sense of wholeness instead of lack, too.

I now use my fighting spirit to help spread the word that while we are all just tiny, temporary specks in the universe, we are also all immensely powerful beings who are capable of much more than we think. And that cultivating our relationship with ourselves is the most meaningful work we can do — not just for ourselves, but for everyone.

In my work with clients I draw heavily upon my practice and training in Zen Buddhism (I was a resident at Angel City Zen Center for three years) as well as my lifelong study of myth and storytelling.

“To take care of your life is to burn the flame of your life force in everything you do.”
